For years, Ate Gay has given audiences reasons to laugh. On October 15, 2026, family, friends, and colleagues gathered to give something back: heartfelt words of love and appreciation. The occasion was a living funeral, an opportunity to celebrate Ate Gay’s life with the person being honored there to hear the stories, respond, and share in the moment.
The gathering celebrated the person behind the performances—the friendships, resilience, and everyday moments that have made Ate Gay meaningful to others. Appreciation flowed both ways, as Ate Gay also had the chance to thank the people who have offered encouragement and support throughout life’s different chapters. Against the backdrop of illness and continuing treatment, the afternoon made room for familiar stories, shared laughter, and new memories together.
Titled “Habang Naririto Ka: A Celebration of Life for Ate Gay,” the gathering was one of the special experiences and surprises prepared for UNDASKO 2026, which brings together Undas and Pasko. Forest Lake provided the setting and support at its Biñan park, while the meaning of the occasion came from Ate Gay and the people sharing it. Their exchange of love and gratitude brought a personal dimension to UNDASKO’s message: Celebrate Life. Remember with Love. Prepare with Care.
That message extends beyond the gathering. A conversation, a letter, or time spent together can let someone know how much they matter—and give them a chance to express their gratitude inreturn.
Who would you like to thank today?
